View of the beach at Torcross, Bayview is the 3rd property from the left.

We're right on the seafront at Torcross a village straddling a narrow strip of land, squeezed between two bodies of water - look east out over Slapton Sands and Start Bay towards France - west across the reed beds of the largest freshwater lake in the southwest, Slapton Ley to the rolling coastal farmland of the South Hams.

Right on the Southwest Coastal Path, our village is in an area awash with environmental designations: Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest; SouthDevon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Small as it is, Torcross offers all the facilities you may need for a self catering holiday with 2 miles of curving shingle and sand beach, a post-office/general store/gift shop, butcher, a pub and two caf├ęs.

For neighbouring towns, drive inland 15 minutes to Kingsbridge, a thriving market town with a vibrant (but steep) high street, restaurants, indie cinema & nightclub, as well as Tesco and Morrisons. Through Kingsbridge to Salcombe for yachtier holidaymakers or on to the lights, sometimes bright, of Plymouth. Or go east along the 2 mile Line to Dartmouth for restaurants, theatre, cinema M&S and Sainsburys and on across the Dart by ferry to the delights of Torquay. Catch a boat trip up the Dart to the district capital transition town Totnes with outlying Dartington, (about 25 minutes by car )

Sailing boats at Torcross on their way to Dartmouth Regatta.

Kids of all ages will enjoy Woodlands Theme Park, and some may have as much fun at Dartmouth Golf Course, both less than twenty minutes door to door.

Walk, swim, boat, eat, drink, star-gaze or just sit back and relax. Torcross, the ideal destination to get away from the stress of urban living with attractions and distractions for all ages within easy reach.
